Dogs down Demons

Sitting five and six on the ladder both teams were fighting for their final five aspirations.

A win for Yarram would see them an outside chance of still making the finals.  A win for Sale City and it would see the cement their place in fith spot.

The Yarram Demons need no more inspiration than that of Chris Bruns milestone 300 games who lead the team out onto the ground to the song “hero’ and former and present players cheering them on.

It was a tight first quarter with both teams struggling to find their rhythm. Kicks were rushed and mistakes made.  Sale City lead by 7 points at the first break.

Yarram settled quicker in the second playing some good football, lead by their captain coach Boadie Motton.  They turned that 7 points deficit into a 11 point advantage as they headed for the changerooms at half time.

The third quarter was another arm wrestle.  Sale City’s held their line and made the Demons work hard for their solarity goal in this quarter, while they were able to score five to be 12 points up at the final change.

With so much to play for both teams left nothing in the tank in that last quarter. Both teams kicking three goals each.  Sale City able to maintain their 12 point advantage to take the four points.

Yarram has another tough assignment to round out their season, they take on Yallourn Yallourn North at Yallourn.

While Sale City will take on Gormandale at Gormandale.
