Teams are in

The teams are in, and Woodside is ready to rumble tomorrow at Churchill when they will take on TTU in the seniors and YYN in the reserves.

It is a history making day for the club regardless of the result.

Team selection is difficult at any time of the year, but picking a team for a grand final would have to be one of the hardest jobs of any competing coach.

Woodside are hoping that they can reverse the results of last year and bring home their first premiership cup since switching to the North Gippsland League in 2008.

Woodside coach Michael Stockdale and his selection team had some difficult decisions to make at the selection table.

He has rolled the disc and named Lee Stockdale, an experienced big-time performer in the side.

Stockdale did not play in the 1st semi-final or the preliminary final.

Hamish McLeod, a late inclusion in last week’s preliminary final has held his spot after an impressive performance.

Rowan Missen also comes back into the side after missing last week.

But there were some disappointments as well, Zac Richards was left out of the senior side, he will play in the reserves.

Ethan Stephens will join Zac in the reserves.

Woodside was last part of a premiership in  2003 as Devon Welshpool Won Wron Woodside, under coach Anthony Banik.  Banik was faced with selection dilemmas in that grand final.

TTU has included Mitchell Mustoe, Stuart Goddard and Quinn Sinclair.

Woodside’s last premiership as their own identity was 50 years ago, the 1974 premiership which was celebrated during the home and away season this year.

Adding to the excitement, over on the netball court, the Wildcats C and B Graders vying for back-to-back premierships.

While the footballers have not been able to win a premiership, the netball girls trophy cabinet is full will five A grade championships, a couple of B Grade championships and a C grade championship.
