Seniors
Plenty of new faces and some old ones returning for the Wildcats
Luke Johnson, younger brother of coach Ben Johnson, comes from the Mid Gippsland league where he played for Inverloch.
Harry Foat returns to the cats from Rosedale .
Josh Hicks and Brodie Stainer have returned from Dingley for another season,
Cooper Ryan joins the Cats from Beaumaris
It was a game of two halves;
The first half was all TTU. They looked sharper, they cut the Wildcats to pieces with their accurate kicking. The second half was a seesawing affair with the Wildcats having the upper hand in the third.
Michael O’Sullivan kept them in the match with his four goals in the first half and then another early in the third.
Interesting description of O’Sullivan by the live stream commentators. “Doesn’t look like a football but boy he has been dangerous up forward for the Wildcats.”
The game was all tied up at the 25-minute mark of the third. Wildcats were on the receiving end of a 50 metre penalty which gave them the lead going into the last quarter.
Scrappy football to start the last with both teams feeling the pressure and many players suffering cramp.
TTU wrestled the lead back. However Woodside refused to lie down and had many opportunities down forward. To TTU credit they created the stoppages and refused to allow Woodside a clear kick on goal.
TTU held on for the win in what can only be described as an entertaining game of football. .\
After the game TTU coach Jack Brown described the game as a good way to blow out the cobwebs
